General wondering [music]

The feeling of your own bed, hot shower and proper food after 4 nights of camping is ridiculously amazing. Something I learnt (or rather, got reminded of) ; appreciate the freaking luxury we have!!!

That's that.

Midsummer conference was better than good, I can only wonder how it didn't rain until the last day :o
All that happened there, just makes me think how amazing our God is.

Anyway, the shot of reality suddenly broke through my head yesterday - Monday morning. Even though I did get ten hours of sleep I was exhausted, almost fell asleep on the chair I was working on. Today was much better! :)

We are heading towards my main point of this blog post, which is related to work though. Dam daum duuu.

I was listening to the radio and I heard something about Jukka Poika (for those who don't know, he's a finnish reggae artist), and I all of a sudden remembered the first song I ever heard from him:

It made me wonder, that when I heard about this dude, to be honest I thought he was just a joke, which this song of course is:D (Im sorry you non finnish speakers you wont be able to understand, hold on we're moving on to something you'll be able to know better).

Okay so.

Why are there artists, that have become famous with a certain song, but when you actually research them further, the songs they did when they were less known, were better. And, no one knows about those songs! I've got you an example.

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against this song:

I especially do appreciate their hot moves.

But hey, ladies and gentlemen who didn't know this, from the same artist:

(In my opinion I'd much rather listen to this second one...Check them out on youtube anyway, they have many songs similar to this if you liked it:) ... they should pay me for advertisement.) and I don't know why this is highlighed in white I can't fix it because there is no transparent background:O

Now this is just general wondering, I'm no music critique, but to me this sort of shows some kind of level of music we are appreciating today..?

That techno crap. or whatever.

No actually I do listen to those songs too, but it does make me sad to see all this computer made music (GENERAL wondering not just donkeyboy) take over the actual instrument music.

Anyway, there was the thought for the day:)
Peace <3

Glimpse of holidays and Konffa

One does not simply mistake this as an instagram photo taken
with iPhone, which it turned out looking like.

Hoi!

It's been ages since I last posted. That is because I've been superbusy with work and seeing friends, and surprise surprise I haven't spent much of my nights at the computer:--) That should be crystal clear, I mean, look at the weather!!! Amazing..

Though it's summer and holidays, we as IB students have got a research essay to work on, which I actually should be doing as I write this.

Okay so the big news is that I'm leaving to Sri Lanka, my second home, in 23 days!! I've been talking to some of the closest friends I can't wait to meet, and they unfortunately or fortunately I don't know, add into my previously existing ENTHUSIASM. I am SUPER excited!!! In the middle of all this excitement, I've been doing some painting...:)

One thing about me and my works; I never like to plan too much. I just go for it, get my starting point from somewhere (a picture in this case), but I never plan it out with a pencil etc. Even if it sounds weird, I like the process to be there, even if it cannot be seen. When painting with paints (usually acrylic for me), the previous paint layer can be covered, but it's still there. This fascinates me. I'll show you an example (I should have started taking photos from the very beginning..sorry.)

Okay so I am very very impatient with my paintings, and even this was made to the third step from these photos on the first night, another night I just made some small adjustments..
That's also probably the truth behind me not drawing with a pencil too much... requires a loot of patience..:(
I give my respect to at least one friend I know that really takes time to make his drawings perfect no matter how long it takes!

BUT MORE EXCITING THINGS ARE HAPPENING!!!

The MidSummer confrerence is starting next week!! The "Juhannuskonffa" :) If you're going, what do you wait from it? I know what I do... I shall get to that once I've shortly explained what this awesome summer thingy is ! For those who don't know, it's held in Keuruu (<33), in Iso Kirja. It starts on the 20th of June, and lasts from that Wednesday till Sunday. It's full of awesome services for all ages, good food (the pizza and pancakes are a must). Now everybody google where it is because I'm not sure what the address is, and I shall see you there.

http://www.isokirja.fi/konferenssikeskus/juhannuskonferenssi_2012/

So what do I wait from it?

  • Walking across the field and spotting friends I haven't seen in a long time
  • Going for pizza with a bunch of people
  • Going around the booths and getting stuck talking to people
  • Sit around and be lazy on the field
  • Sense and enjoy the atmosphere, simply amazing
  • Make new friends!

The smell of sausages and pizza in a slightly cold summer night, when it doesn't get dark at all is just remarkable.

I'll see you there, peace <3

Summer and Jelly Dreams

Aloha dear friend.

By looking outside at the moment, is hard to fully understand that the summer holidays started. Luckily we can recall the warm weathers from about a week ago, drag them into our mind and simply have a little imagination play and everything seems much better.

Today when I was going to a graduation party of a friend of mine, something happened when I sat down to the comfortable seats of the train - we were speeding up and suddenly a guy bumped into the train, against the very window I was seated next to ! I could literally see his facial expression of horror!!! So we stopped, and people started screaming that he got ran over. What went through my mind? I thought, if that dude died (because it was a pretty hard hit) I could have been the only one who saw his face for the last time when he was alive. Luckily after a while the staff informed that nothing too serious happened.

So today when I got home from the graduation party, I got very inspired by the funky light patterns (and my new dress) coming from outside... That should explain the pictures below. (Later on I added some more light because it was getting dark outside muahah.)

I was going through my mom's computer and found my Gimp2-drawn images from about two years back:D!
I decided to show them to you... I have no idea why but maybe this will inspire you to do something like this as well (It indeed is fun I shall explain how I did these because muahah I cheated a little)

So what I did was, I had a picture (this is the cheating part) of my friend and my mom as one layer in Gimp2 (which is like Photoshop, a little more limited maybe but easier to use. It's free for downloading and preeetty cool;)). I added a layer on top of that and made it transparent, so I could draw ''on'' the picture (even though it actually does nothing to the original picture, just to the layer on top of it so when you hide the actual photo you can just see the outlines).

I should probably try this again and hope it'd turn out a little better than these:D but of course when you got just rough outlines like this and all, you could start the shading and other cool stuff to make it look like it took a little more than... very little time.

I know I'm jumping from a thing to another, please forgive me. But I've got a picture to show you (surprise surprise):

It's in finnish (duh) and it says "Food not weapons" which I find quite inspiring.
This is of course a typical hippie peace protest :) No wait why a ''hippie protest'' why does everything to do with peace have to be associated with hippies? Isn't the worldpeace everyone's issue and target (i certainly would wish it was, apparently not looking at the news...) Do you need to be a hippie to want world peace? (nononononoonooo)

(but all the hippies out there I like you:))

.....just throwing a thought into the athmosphere dam-dum-daaa-dadadaa. That was a drumroll.

Anyway,

peace!
and have a great great start of holiday and do not let the weather disturb the fun okay :)
